When I was in primary school I used to do lots of drawing. I loved it. But I gave it up when I was in high school, mostly because people kept telling me I was no good at it. Looking back, I’m able to see that it was a really silly reason to give up something that I liked. If you love doing something, it doesn’t matter if you’re not all that great at it. What matters is that you enjoy it!
During the pandemic lockdowns, I started drawing again. I’m still not great at it… but I am practising and trying to get better. I’ve done some YouTube tutorials and I’ve been reading Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards.
Here are some of my drawings…
I may have already mentioned that I’m a huge Doctor Who fan. So, of course, some of my drawings are inspired by that TV series.
Since taking up drawing again, I’ve discovered that it can be really helpful for me as a writer. Tune in next time and I’ll tell you about it.
